The Amazing Mount Rinjani

Lombok Island was endowed by God with an abundance natural beauty, both on land and at sea. Beautiful beaches with sea views detachment, Gilis or small islands that have been popular with local and foreign tourists. (Do you still remember with my article about the three most popular Gilis?). Views of rice fields and mountains are green and refreshing. One of them is the tourist attractions that I will inform you, Mount Rinjani.

All my buddies, still around The Amazing Lombok Island. There is a mountain that became a favorite destination for hikers because of the beauty of the landscape, namely Mount Rinjani. This mountain is the second highest volcano in Indonesia with an altitude of 3726 m and be a part of the Mount Rinjani National Park.

Besides as a climbing destination, Mount Rinjani also be one of the very attractive tourist destinations on the Lombok Island. Because of the mountain has an abundance of charm and very attractive potential of Geotourism, which certainly is too hard to pass up.

There are many exotic and beautiful tourist spots like paradise around Mount Rinjani. In addition to a variety of beauty presented by Mount Rinjani itself. Among them is the Caldera where there is a stunning lake Segare Anak (meaning Segare = Sea ,and Anak = Children) which is formed naturally by the eruption of Mount Rinjani, The Summit of Craters, Waterfalls, Caves, Hot sSprings, and so on ...

Segare Anak is the most exotic place that can be encountered in Mount Rinjani, surrounding communities call it Segare or Sea because this lake has blue-colored water like the ocean. Segare Anak lake is also popular among anglers because there are many goldfish, harper and java tilapia in it.

Near of Segare Anak there is a small mountain called Mount Baru Jari (New Mountain), but few people can reach the summit of Mount Baru Jari, probably because it is a new mountain is still active and spewing toxic gas.

In addition to stunning natural beauty, Mount Rinjani is also rich in a wide variety of flora and fauna. From below there are Dysoxylum, Pterospermum and Ficus Superba. Then up at an altitude of 1000-2000 m there is a lot growing Mountain Pine (Casuarina junghuhniana), at an altitude of 3000 m above there is only grass and Edelweiss flowers (Anaphalis javanica). Then in the east of the mountain there is a lot of growing Acacia Bark.

Beside that there are 109 species of birds live on Mount Rinjani, some of which are species of birds that exist in Australia, Monkey Silver originating from Bali, Deer and Hedgehog. And there is Long Tailed Monkey  in Pelawangan, Sembalun, East Lombok that like to disturb the climbers. Besides known fierce and brave, the monkeys were also very clever to open the tent to pick up food.

There are some charming and equally beautiful places around Mount Rinjani. The first is Senaru, a village which is used early in climbing Mount Rinjani. The village has an enchanting view and there are famous waterfalls named Gile Spring and Tu Kelep. Do not be surprised if many climbers or tourists who stop by here before or after the climb.

Then there is Tetebatu, often referred to as a paradise at the foot of Mount Rinjani, if you do not believe it, try to visit here. You will surely be pleased to linger here, enjoy the extraordinary natural beauty. Everywhere your eyes look, you will see the beautiful and amazing nature of Tetebatu. Nice view on the south side of Lombok, on the north side you'll see Mount Rinjani stood firm, and the ocean view from the east side. With an abundance of beauty, cool air and fog that often surrounds Tetebatu sky, making it the perfect resting place.

 Lastly is Sembalun, a tourist village that is located closest to Mount Rinjani. Just like the other mountain areas, Sembalun has beautiful scenery with fertile soil. Naturally, if Sembalun became spice-producing regions in NTB (West Nusa Tenggara) and suppliers of fruit to all areas in Lombok. Here, you can perform a variety of activities, such as farming. We can take part in harvesting crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions and other vegetables at harvest time.
